Kyle wants to get to school 20 minutes early. School starts at half-past eight.  He got there at a quarter after eight.  Was he as early as he wanted to be?

Bradley P. finished second in a bicycle race.  The times people crossed the finish line were:  one seventeen, a quarter after one, five minutes to one and 1:07.  What time did he cross the finish line?  

Jennifer P. has a fish tank.  She has 12 more orange fish than white fish.  She has three fewer white fish than green fish.  There are eight green fish.  How many fish of each color?  How many fish in all?

  Aaron  had $5.00 to spend on lunch.  He bought a hamburger for $1.26, french fries for 65 cents and two drinks for 85 cents each.  How much money did he get back?  How much money did he spend?  What did he have for dessert?

  There are pictures of cows in the circles on the wall in Brad C’s cave.  There are 11 cows in circle A and 9 cows in circle B.  Five of the cows are in both circle A and B.  How many cows are in the circles?

  Brandy saw pictures of horses in the circles on the wall of the old cave.  There are eight horses in circle A and 6 horses in circle B.  Two of the horses are in both circles A and B.   How many horses are in the circles?
