Rain Forest Rap

This is a fun way for kids to share the facts they have learned while studying the rain forest.  My class performed this for classrooms and parents before they took them through our classroom "rain forest".  They all wore straw pith helmets. You can use this format for other themes as well.  Just substitute "Rain Forest" for your topic.

The pattern for the rap is as follows:

Part one: The Whole Class recites;

  1. The Rain Forest Rap
  2. The Rain Forest Rap
  3. Did you know? Did you know?
  4. The Rain Forest Rap

(Repeat again)

Part two: Each child individually says;

Did you know _____________________________________

(Insert a rain forest fact in the blank)

ENDING

  1. Repeat Part one twice.
  2. The whole group says "Yeah!"

Example:

The rain forest rap, the rain forest rap, did you know, did you know the rain forest rap.

The rain forest rap, the rain forest rap, did you know, did you know the rain forest rap.

The rain forest rap, the rain forest rap, did you know, did you know the rain forest rap.

The rain forest rap, the rain forest rap, did you know, did you know the rain forest rap.

(at end)

YEAH!
