Sandy Kemsley's Rain Forest Adventure
El Yunque Rain Forest, Puerto Rico

Here I am ready to go, dressed in my tropical bird T-shirt :). Sun bright in my eyes and anticipating a fun day.

This is a view of the rain forest from above. You are looking at the emergent layer. See how thick the canopy is. You can see the sun shining. Little sunlight reaches the forest floor.

Imagine walking through the forest,
listening to the parrots caw, and smelling the fresh foliage.

Rosy Periwinkle: One of my favorites.
I think I love the name. :). Some periwinkles are used to help make medicine for childhood leukemia.

It rains most days in the El Yunque Rain
Forest for about an hour every afternoon, more during the rainy season. This rain overflows and runs down the terrain.

There are many waterfalls creating a spectacular view!
