Photo Boxes
Material Needed: One shoebox, old magazines, calendars, white glue, ModPodge
or white glue mixture, paint brush scissors, lace or rickrack, buttons,
beads (optional).
Directions: This makes a nice gift for any occasion, or just to have for
yourself. Cut out pictures from old calendars and magazines, all different
shapes, sizes and colors. Arrange and glue pictures on the shoebox. Make
sure the entire shoebox is covered with pictures, both the lid and the
bottom. You can use lace, ribbon, rickrack, buttons, beads for the sides ot
the lid to dress it up a little. That's optional, or you can apply buttons
and beads randomly between the pictures. Another idea would be to scan
pictures of your family and add to the box for a more personal touch. When
everything is glued on, use ModPodge or mixture of white glue and water to
completely paint over the entire box. This will dry clear. For your mixture
of white glue, add a little bit of water to the glue. The mixture should not
be runny. Add enough water to dilute the glue a little so it is not so
thick. You can line the inside of the box with felt if desired. This is a
great gift idea for children to make.
