Let's Go Fishing

Materials Needed:

Yard stick,
stick,
or wrapping paper tube for pole,
string
 masking tape
small magnet;
 cardboard,
picture of a fish from a magazine or coloring book
a Styrofoam meat tray
 large paper clip.

Directions:

  1. To make the pole attach two feet of string to your tube or yardstick with masking tape.
  2.  Tie a magnet at the end of the string.
  3. To make the fish; Cut out fish from cardboard or a styrofoam meat tray (Make sure the meat tray is thoroughly washed with hot soapy water.)
  4.  Place a large paper clip on the front of the fish.
  5.  Place fish on the floor. Try fishing with your pole.

You can make extra fish and have a box or bucket to put the fish in.

Variation:

  1. Instead of using a magnet at the end of the string, you can attach a pipe cleaner curved into a hook shape.
  2. Punch a hole in the front of the fish and try to catch them by inserting hook into the hole.

You can increase or decrease the size of the hole in the fish depending on what age group you're working with
