shape of bird cut from a magazine or a coloring book
different colored leaves
white glue
paintbrush.
Directions:
Cut out your cardboard bird shape.
Gather colored leaves ofdifferent sizes shapes and color.
(Great for fall)
Press leaves in a book to dry them out and flatten them.
(This may take a day or two)
Before you start gluing the leaves on, lay them in an
overlapping pattern on your bird shape, i.e. red for the head, yellow for
the neck, brown for the body.
After your initial layout, start taking off the
leaves one at a time and place glue at that point, and press leave into
place.
You can get very creative
with this project.
Variation:
Make a wreath of leaves
. Cut out a piece of cardboard in a donut shape with the
middle cut out.
Place leaves in an overlapping fashion, put a paperclip on
the back, with some string and you have a lovely fall wreath to hang.
