Juice Box Shelf Sitters

Materials Needed:

One empty juice box,
kitty litter or sand or rice beans
Popsicle stick, construction paper, scraps of material
pictures of people from magazines or your own photo.

Directions:

  1. (For adults to do) Cut a slit in the top of the juice box and wash thoroughly and let dry.
  2. Fill about 1/4 of the juice box with kitty litter or something that will give it weight.
  3. Tape up the slit in the top of the box.

The box becomes the body for your shelf sitter.

You can decorate the juice box with scraps of material and buttons, or wrap it with construction paper and draw your clothes on the paper.
Stick a Popsicle stick in the top of the box, that will be the neck.
For the head you can use a picture of a face from a magazine, your own photo, or draw on a piece of paper and glue onto the popsicle stick.
Add yarn for hair etc. The legs can be made from strips of construction paper, crepe paper, or ribbon taped to the bottom of the juice box. Same for the arms.
Add doll shoes or cut shoes from a magazine.

This project has great potential for any age group. When

completed, sit on the a shelf and let the legs dangle.
