Suggested Uses

• Using the letters above, print out the letters for the child's name. Make a mobile by tying string on each and hanging from a stick.
• Put one of each of the letters above on a poster. Post them in the hallway. Have the children cut out pictures and words from magazines to paste on the posters throughout the month (year).
• Using the letters above have students cut out their initials and paste on poster board. Have them bring in pictures about themselves and paste around the poster board. Have them write or dictate things they like to do.
• Use the letters above to spell the name of your school. Paste on poster board. Line each letter with glue and sprinkle with glitter.
• ABC Concentration: USE sets of two (don't use all at once) face down. Turn two cards over. If the match leave them up, if they don't put them back down. Continue until the game if over.
• Use your 2 sets of A-Z cards. Play fish. Give each kid seven cards. Put the rest face down. Ask: Do you have an "A", if they do they give it to you, if they don't they say go fish. When you get 2 of a kind put them down. Those with the most matches wins. ( you could make another A=Z set and make it 3 of a kind)
• Make rhyming words: Get the A card and the T card and put it together to make AT. Then have the kids look for letters that will make other words like; cat, bat, hat ,sat etc. Give points for each word. Do the same thing with ET, IT, OT, etc.
• Make a Poster with a letter. Cut out pictures that start with that letter.
• Play ABC bingo. Make a grid with 16 squares. Write a letter (or word) in each square. Make small pieces of paper with the letters or words on them plus others. Call out the letter (or word). If they have the letter they can put a penny on it or cross it out with a crayon. four in a row wins.
• Use the letters above as a book cover. Paste pictures of things that start with that letter.
