A verb shows action, links subjects and nouns, or shows state of being.
Some verbs are called action verbs.  They are words like run, jump, and sing.  Linking verbs connect two words. For example; The car is a Ford. Some verbs are called helping verbs. They come before the main verb.   For example; John will eat his dinner after the game. The word will is a helping verb.

Brainstorm some action verbs and write them in the box below.
