Problems with the newest Adobe Reader 10.1.2 update, and PC Users using Internet Explorer, are showing up.
It appears that Adobe Reader 10.1.2 is a broken distribution of Reader. Problems with opening pdf's all over the internet have been reported after updating to this version.
The problem has not been solved by Adobe yet and they do have Forums on the internet regarding this problem already. Generally they come up with a fix and will publish a new update.
As a result, persons using Internet Explorer 8 & 9 on their computer are having problems opening the documents on abcteach and all over the Internet. We have 2 suggestions to help with this:
First, do not upgrade to version 10.1.2 yet, a fix should be published by them before you update your Adobe Reader again.
If you have already updated to Adobe Reader 10.1.2 then when you login to the member site on abcteach, and click on a document, you will most likely see a blank gray page. You may see the "loading bar" but it will not load the document. While you see this gray screen, Refresh your page, (click "F5" on the top row of your keyboard if you don't know where the Refresh button is). Doing this will reload the page and it will open correctly on your screen ready to print.
It seems that Mozilla Firefox is not having issues with the Adobe Reader 10.1.2 update. Mozilla is a free browser and you may already have it on your computer, it not, here is the free Download:
Use Mozilla Firefox to access the internet and go to www.abcteach.com This method works around the problem. Once a solution is found by Adobe for Internet Explorer users (probably a new update) you can go back to using Internet Explorer to view and open all pdf documents on the internet.
